President’s Message

It is my pleasure to welcome you to one of the strongest and friendliest garden clubs in the Blue Mountains. Wentworth Falls Garden Club has been active since 1989 and enjoys an enthusiastic membership that meets every second Thursday of the month.  Several events are organised and regularly scheduled by a committed group of volunteers to ensure the membership is kept active and informed about how to manage their gardens.
Each month a speaker, expert in his/her field delivers a lecture on a special subject and often makes available a wide variety of healthy plants as sale items. This is the highlight of the meeting, and many members have solved problems associated with a particular issue during question time.

Members gardens are constantly evolving so garden rambles give opportunity for the membership to share experiences on growing flowers, trees, shrubs and veges in a cold-climate area.  Other events include luncheons and garden themed events that bring the membership together for social interaction. Each month a plant stall offers generous contributions from members that can be purchased at a nominal sum during morning tea where members mingle, share ideas and socially gather. In addition, a substantial library of books and DVDs is available, for members to browse and to borrow any item at no cost.

During the monthly meetings members are invited to share garden problems that find resolution through anyone present who has experienced similar. Many subjects have been covered such as issues concerning native plants, how to ecologically control garden pests, pruning difficult shrubs, information on great groundcovers, cold climate plants, drought-resistant trees and shrubs, ornamental bulbs and so much more, all discussed by those who enjoy getting down to the soil.

The club is organised by a Committee of talented volunteers that ensures the smooth running of the club.  We invite you to access the website where you will learn more about its activities and we invite you to join us as we serve the many garden lovers of the beautiful Blue Mountains.
